Facing difficulty to sleep?

One of the widespread problems that 25.7 percent of the total population of India is suffering from is Insomnia. Insomnia refers to the state of sleepless nights where one constantly tries to sleep but can’t get into it. Even if the person gets into it, it becomes very difficult for the person to cover all the stages of their sleep. Thus she never reaches deep sleep. Constantly mind is triggering thoughts regarding some of the issues of the day thereby creating anxiety. Are you the same person to suffers sleepless nights? If yes then this blog is for you. 

Why are you suffering? 

Except for the genetic and biological causes, if you are suffering from insomnia it can have psychological causes behind it. The high amount of anxiety and stress is one of the widespread reasons that you tend to wake up at night. If you are suffering from any devastating problem in your life then also you can suffer it. It is mostly prevalent among employees in the corporate and students. One of the problematic facts is that students of an average of 16 years and above are the victims of this.  

One of the data shows that 50.1% of total university students in India are suffering from insomnia causing this problem to convert into an epidemic. Thus if this does not get prevented then it will tend to reduce the average life span of humans. Persons suffering from such mental problems tend to reduce their life span. They are also vulnerable to many physical diseases when this anxiety takes its psychosomatic form in the form of insomnia. 

Major causes behind insomnia can be listed as follows:- 

  1. Stress 
  1. Poor sleep habits 
  1. Eating too much late in the night 
  1. Mental health disorders 
  1. Sleep disorders 
  1. Caffeine 
  1. Substance abuse 

Symptoms of insomnia

As per some of the symptoms pointed out by mayoclinc.org if you have some or all of these symptoms then you are a victim of this disease. 

  • Having a hard time falling asleep at night. 
  • Waking up during the night. 
  • Waking up too early. 
  • Feeling tired or sleepy during the day. 
  • Feeling cranky, depressed, or anxious. 
  • Having a hard time paying attention, focusing on tasks, or remembering. 
  • Making more errors or having more accidents. 
  • Having ongoing worries about sleep. 

 

Social reasons for insomnia 

Insomnia also has some social reasons. It means that social context has a vital role to play if you are having sleepless nights. We have to consider the fact that rare situations of sleepless nights must not be categorized as insomnia. It is a problem when we are facing such nights constantly. Also if you are a night owl who loves to read and study at night but is happy to manage a minimum 8 hours of sleep a day, then it is not a problem. However, if you are constantly trying to sleep but can’t sleep but can’t get a sound sleep then you must move to a psychologist. 

A person in love spending sleepless nights isn’t just limited to novels of Shakespeare. It also has some sort of reality in it. Also person in distress or suffering from bereavement suffers the same. There are a lot of social problems and personal trauma which are responsible for this situation. Thus in all such cases, you must reach out to a mental health specialist to get a solution. It is completely not okay if you are ignoring this situation as this will create catastrophic consequences for your health and social life. 

Prevention from insomnia 

Thus it becomes necessary that you take the required action if you want to prevent this problem from disturbing you. This can include:- 

  1. You can fix a sleep schedule if you are at the initial stage. Please keep the time to sleep and awake the same. 
  1. Physical activity can help your body to release stored energy and produce new energy thus helping you to deal with this problem. 
  1. Please try to avoid nicotin alcohol or any substance abuse. 
  1. You can have a shower before going to sleep. This will help you to relax 
  1. Please keep your bedroom away from your professional life. You must carry on your official work at any other place 

However, in case of severe symptoms, you must go to a mental health specialist to have the required therapies and treatment. 

Thus it can be concluded that insomnia seems to be a very huge problem, especially for youth. For a variety of reasons, it becomes very difficult for patients here to sleep. This in turn has a severe impact on the daily life of patients. Thus this must be taken care of from the stage when it is at its mild form to avoid any kind of severe symptoms. Remember that 8 hours of sleep is mandatory for having a fulfilled life. So please maintain a very good sleep cycle of yourself.

Why should you say sorry? 

Are you the one who loves someone so deeply heartedly but can’t say sorry when it’s not your mistake? Or Are you the one who hesitates to accept the mistake even after knowing that it’s your mistake? Are you the one who always finds it difficult to maintain a relationship even when you understand the person very well? Or Are you the one who generally remains angry because of the arrogance of your teacher or boss? Are you a leader who finds it difficult to manage your team’s arrogance? This is the blog which is specially for you. Consider it a gift from my side 😁. 

What does “sorry” refer to? 

From the primary school stage, what is being taught to us is that sorry is a word of apology that we only utter when we have committed a mistake. For instance: If a child breaks a glass, she/he would be told that you must be sorry about it. This is a general definition of this word that is now unanimously accepted.

The foundation is wrong and the provided definition of sorry is just a part of it. Sorry, first there is not a word of apology here as everyone knows. It is used to apologize, and it is possible that grammatically it means an apology. A person who can read between the lines must say that rather than being a word for the apology it is a word that act as evidence that indicates that you value the person more than whatever and whosoever has committed a mistake 

Here the person is in the limelight, not the mistake. This is the fact that we generally forget to teach our children. Whether you have committed a mistake or not, it doesn’t matter. What matters is the person to whom this emotion needs to be conveyed. Thus, the possibility that we must say sorry even when we are not guilty must not be ignored! 

The reason for increasing distance 

Nowadays we can generally observe that whatever the relation is, the density of the relation is not up to expectations. It is true that if any relation exists, being it a personal or professional relation the “ego” is the thing that creates hindrances in making any relationship very deep. Trust issues, suspiciousness, and all other similar things have a deep root in our inability to say sorry thereby increasing the distance between us.

Why is it necessary that I must say sorry when there is my mistake? Why is it necessary that just to value the person and person’s disagreement I can apologize? Remember guys that apology is just a symbol to value the person whom you love or have loved. It does not indicate that you are guilty of a crime that you will be punished for. Learn to say sorry just to maintain the relationship not to admit the mistake.  

It seems an obsolete joke that in a marital relationship only husbands need to say sorry. The reality is if both don’t learn this it is very difficult to nurture a healthy relationship 

Is pen your companion? 

Nowadays writing a written apology is a symbol of showcasing a superiority complex of the person to whom the letter may concern. Believe me, this was not the reason that we have developed this system of written apology. The main reason lies in the fact that if you are hesitant to apologize through your spoken words you can use the written. It was a choice, not a compulsion but because we love to make simpler things complex its meaning gradually changed. It is a time just to change the meanings of some simpler concepts and make it an easy way to go. Life is not about making simpler things complex but complex things simpler.  

Getting angry with a person doesn’t mean you don’t love. 

Sometimes situations may arise where you can disagree with the person whom you love. You can get angry with the person whom you love. But just because you are angry or in disagreement doesn’t mean you don’t love. It’s just a part and you must live it. The time when you will know that sorry is a powerful word you are in the first step of maturity. 

Conflict doesn’t mean you don’t care about someone you love. Anger, frustration, and disagreement are normal in relationships. They show how deep and complex your bond is. Working through disagreements can make your relationship stronger. Trust, communication, and respect can all grow when you handle conflict well. 

Apologizing after a fight shows you’re mature. It proves you care about the other person’s feelings and the relationship. Don’t be upset by arguments. They can help you learn and connect. Saying “sorry” can show your love and respect. It’s a sign of maturity and can make your bond even stronger.  

Learn to say sorry  

Apologizing can seem weak to some, but it’s a sign of strength. It takes courage to say sorry, putting relationships above pride. Not apologizing can harm relationships and hinder personal growth. By saying sorry, we learn from our mistakes and grow. 

In a fast-paced world, sincere apologies are rare but powerful. They can heal wounds and build trust. A genuine ‘sorry’ shows empathy, understanding, and a desire to make things right. It fosters deeper connections and a culture of forgiveness. Remember that we all are humans and it is human to commit mistake  

Next time you hesitate to apologize, think about the other person’s feelings. Saying sorry isn’t just fixing a mistake, it’s about caring for relationships and being humble. By apologizing, you build stronger connections and grow as a person. Please value the person whom you love. Value your colleagues. Try to empathize with the person and I promise you will not only grow as a person, but also people will like you.

Bois/Girls Locker Room

Two days ago in Delhi, On Sunday May 6, 2020 several girls on Instagram exposed a few Screenshots from a Group chat named “BOIS LOCKER ROOM ” showing how several boys were body shaming and passing unusual comments on different girls, known or unknown, underage or adults. May be a guy from the group was good enough to handle over the names and the screenshots to the girls involved to have them exposed, the exact source is yet unconfirmed. Now, there were a lot of questions raised on those girls that they could have handled it in a better way, went directly to the police and shouldn’t have posted all of it on the social media and not defamed those guys by revealing their names.  They are apparently doing all of this for merely increasing “FOLLOWERS” and their “FAME” using “FAKE FEMINISM” as their weapon. Followed by all of this there was another screenshots release from a group chat named “GIRLS LOCKER ROOM” in which the same things happened but instead girls were the one performing a role here. Now, people say that the girls also do the same and “they” do not have the right to defame boys like that after the outbreak of the idiom “All Men Are Trash”. If you, in general know for sure that you aren’t, you wouldn’t get offended by such things right?

The matter has gone under legal ways now. The Delhi police along with the Cyber crime department has been investigating what is the truth so far about both the groups. But my point here is that, even if those girls didn’t do something good or they themselves might be the ones doing the same but at least they made a little bit of awareness for everyone to know what might be happening around them. Yes, the names shouldn’t have been exposed because it might in some ways leave no room for counseling for the underage children involved here but the exposure of such things is quite important. Social media isn’t about giving justice to anybody but creating more and more awareness and that is what we are entitled to do.We have to look for the bigger issue here.

It is okay to have group chats and normal talks and judging people, Everybody does that. But , what we need here to understand is the difference between TALKING AND TEASING. Females have always been dominated by the others for no matter what reason. That thing needs to be changed, they have to be accepted as equal as males. They are not the objects that you own about which you can talk or tease whatever you want and definitely not threatening them with rape threats, be it by a or for a girl. Body shaming shouldn’t be followed, it is irrespective of the gender. Shouldn’t be done by any gender upon any other gender. All the genders shall be taken equally. What is important here is the upbringing of the children by their parents wherein they teach them from the start that “EVERYBODY NEEDS TO RESPECT EVERYBODY.” Feminism can be followed by anyone a boy or a girl, as it is about the gender equality of women and men and not the superiority of females over males or vice versa. This is a huge problem in India and the mentality of the people here and this where somebody needs to take a stand and talk about the general and the basic problem behind all this instead of defending girls or boys or their group chat locker rooms.

These screenshots just gave a push for a change that has to happen so instead of taking it for defending your gender or friends or anyone else we shall take a better part in helping form the change. Some or the other day when somebody does something wrong, he/she has to pay for it,may it be by legal or any other means. We can atleast do what’s possible in our part.

Now security of your health is just a few taps away, because now it is possible to measure the quality of air that you are breathing. Helpchat India’s biggest personal assistant app has launched a new feature that aims to help Indian citizens in avoiding pollution related diseases by tracking air quality in their locality. This feature monitors the air in the surrounding environment and delivers a personalized air-quality update via a mobile app.

The app tells users if the air they are breathing is toxic and suggests various ways to take precautions. The app will show the Air Quality Index (AQI) reading from 0 to 500+ (0 being the cleanest and 500 being the worst air quality) and suggest a precautionary measure depending on the air quality. Should the app sense air quality getting below a certain point, it will send an alert to your smartphone.

In addition to this, it also suggests areas that one should avoid visiting in their city so that users can plan the travel for their families and loved ones accordingly.

The AQI index shown by the app measures a number of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide, and even cleaning agents or allergens that might affect the lungs or harm the health long term. Basically we mean to say that it measures how good/bad the air is for you so that you can have be safe from any harm. So before you leave for your college or maybe that famous hangout point, do have a check.

Since pollution and its impact are directly linked with weather conditions, Helpchat app also tracks the weather conditions and updates the user in real-time.
