The University of Delhi informally known as Delhi University is one of the prestigious university of India. The University offers various UG and PG programmes in the field of arts, commerce, science, etc.

The admission procedure for different courses going to start from 1st week of May, 2018. Here, we are providing the detailed information about DU Admission 2018, Application form, Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria and complete admission process of the Delhi university.

For UG Courses:

Delhi University Entrance Exam:

The University conduct entrance exam only for the PG courses. The admission in the UG programme courses will be based on the DU cut-off. The details about the Delhi University application form for various courses is mentioned below.

PG Courses Application Form (MD/MS/ MDS)

Those candidates seeking admission in the various courses of Delhi University, they have to fill the DU 2018 Application form. 50% seats of the PG programmes will be filled by direct admission of the students of the University of Delhi and the remaining 50% seats will filled through the entrance exam plus interviews. The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD is Rs. 1000 each course and fee for all candidates (General, OBC, etc.) is Rs. 1500. After submission of the application form, no changes will be allowed.

UG Courses Admission

Those candidates interested for admission in UG programmes, they have to fill the common Pre-admission form online for all categories (General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD). The university will not conduct any entrance exam for admission in UG courses. There will be no Pre-admission form at the college level. There are two separate common Pre-Admission forms viz General/OBC and SC/ST/PwD.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for UG, PG and B.tech Courses are given below.

PG Courses:

  • The eligibility criteria for each programme in which candidate apply is different. Candidate will have to complete their graduation in their specific field from any recognized university.
  • There is no minimum age bar limit for admission in PG courses at Delhi University, except for courses regulated by bodies such as Medical Council of India, Bar Council of India, etc.

For UG Courses:

  • Candidates have to qualify their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • Candidates have to pass the qualifying examination obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses.

Delhi University Exam Pattern

The exam pattern will be different for different academic courses offered by the university. The PG entrance exam will be OMR based examination. Candidates must note that for UG courses (merit based) there will be no entrance exam. The entrance exam will be held for UG courses (entrance based) and PG courses.

Delhi University Syllabus

The PG entrance exam syllabus will be different according to the candidate applying course. It contains the detailed syllabus of their graduation degree in specified programme. The DU syllabus for the entrance test for UG courses is based on the academic syllabus of class 11th and 12th.  Candidates appearing for the UG Courses (entrance based) may check the official syllabus when the notification will be released by the university. Candidates must note that we will update the syllabus as soon as it will be released by the officials.

Delhi University Result 2018

After the entrance exam, the Delhi University 2018 Result will be announced for the PG course. The result will be declared on the first week of July 2018  (tentative). The result comprises of merit list. On the basis of the merit list candidate will be called for the counselling process.

DU Cut-Off

The UG programme cut-off marks will be prepared on the basis of class 12th marks of the school boards. The cut-off marks will be prepared by the various colleges affiliated to the Delhi University. Candidate will get admission in the UG programmes on the basis of the DU cut-off.

Delhi University Counselling 2018

Candidates will be called for the PG counselling process on the premises of the score and ranks in the merit list that is prepared on the basis of UG score for direct admission category and on the basis of the entrance exam marks for the admission through entrance exam. The DU counselling 2018  will be started after the few week of the result declaration. After the counselling process, candidate will face the interview session. After passing the interview, candidate will be selected for the admission in the university.

Delhi University Admission for UG Courses

The Delhi University Admission in UG programmes will be based on the prescribed eligibility criteria and cut off. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and last admission will be done on successful confirmation of documents and submitting the same to the university along with academic year fees. Candidate will be selected on the basis of the merit list for PG course.

List of Documents Required at the Time of Admission

Candidates will be required to produce the following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission.

  • Class 10th and 12th Mark sheet
  • Class 10th and 12th Passing Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST Certificate
  • OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) Certificate
  • At least two passport size self-attested photograph

Delhi University B.Sc Eligibility Criteria will provide an overview of minimum eligibility criteria required for admissions to undergraduate B.Sc programmes in Faculty of Science at the University of Delhi.

Candidates interested in applying for DU B.Sc Admissions need to go through the following eligibility conditions required for B.Sc programmes.

  • All elective subjects in the CBSE curriculum which are regarded as Honours course by the university will be accepted in the best of four as academic subjects without any disadvantage
  • However Physical Education, Home Science and Music in Class 12th will be considered in best of four as the academic subjects or elective subjects for only those candidates who are seeking admissions in these three courses
  • The candidates who are pursuing two or three vocational courses are now eligible for the admission process, subjected to a deduction of 10% of the maximum marks in each subject
  • Those who will be applying for Honours course in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics need possess the qualifying marks in Mathematics in Class 12.

Minimum Percentage and Subjects required for DU B.Sc Admissions in Delhi University – The candidates should secure at least the minimum percentage as specified in the table below:

B.Sc (Hons.) Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biological Science– candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as main subjects and should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of three subjects and 50% marks in English as a compulsory subject.

B.Sc (Hons.) Anthropology– Candidates must be qualified with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects securing at least 55% and more marks in aggregate of three subjects and 50% marks in English as a compulsory language in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc (Hons.) Geology– Candidates must have qualified 12th board qualifying exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Geology/Biology/Bio-technology/Geography subjects and they must have obtained a minimum of 55% and 50% marks in English as an elective subject.

B.Sc (Hons.) Food Technology– Candidates who have qualified 10+2 board exams with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Bio-technology subjects obtaining at least 55% marks in aggregate of three subjects and 50% marks in English as a main subject.  The admissions will be done on basis of aggregate marks in PCM or PCB subjects, whichever is more and also, candidates who have studied PCMB will be offered 3% relaxation.

B.Sc (Hons.) Home Science–  candidates who have studied Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and other subjects except languages with atleast 50% in aggregate of the best three subjects.

B.Sc (Hons.) Bio-Medical Science – Candidates qualified 10+2 examination with Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology obtaining at least 55% in aggregate marks and a minimum of 50% marks in English. The candidates with marks 60% or more in aggregate of PCM/Bio-technology with Mathematics will be provided an advantage of 3% marks.

B.Sc Bio-Chemistry– candidates who have studied 10+2 with Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as main subjects obtaining a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of three subjects as well as 50% marks in English as an elective subject.

B.Sc Computer Science– Candidates qualified 12th qualifying examination with Mathematics, one language and two other elective subjects as listed academic subject obtaining 55% marks  or securing at least 60% marks in Mathematics. Candidates who have studies Physics, Chemistry/Computer Science and Mathematics will be given a 5% of advantage in the ‘Best of Four’ calculation.

B.Sc Mathematics and Statistics– The candidates need to have qualified HSC Board  with at least 45% of aggregate marks as well as a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics.

B.Sc Home Science– Candidates qualified in 10+2 qualifying examination with English and three other elective subjects (not languages) securing at least 50% marks in aggregate.

B.Sc Mathematical Science – Candidates who have studied and qualified Mathematics, two elective/academic subjects and one language paper at 10+2 level and securing a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.

B.Sc Physical Science/Applied Physical Science– Candidates who have qualified 12th board or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks in three of the subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry/ Computer Science and Mathematics. Also, candidates must have passed a language paper with 40% marks

The university is starting the online registration process almost two weeks ahead of its usual schedule for courses in which admission is based on cut-off. The last date to fill the admission form has not been finalised.
