Are you suffering from panic attacks?

Anxiety is one of the common mental problems, especially in metropolitan cities. In such big cities, if we can see a general dissatisfaction towards unknown people in the metro it is not without any reason. A report claims that 1 out of 7 people in Delhi is the victim of any mental disorder. Among such mental problems, anxiety seems to be one of the problems in the limelight. This has been so common in these cities that the public doesn’t even consider it necessary to go to a psychologist for treatment. When this anxiety prevails for a long period and gets its psychosomatic form then we realize that it was critical. Continuous anxiety for 2 weeks can turn into a situation of depression.

When we fall ill we feel it very common to get it treated. But in India, the boundaries of illness have been limited to physical illness for no reason. Thus when anxiety takes its psychosomatic form in the form of panic attacks then at the severe stage, it becomes tough for a psychiatrist to normalize the patient. Still, there is a huge need to make people aware of the need to treat your mind when it needs it.

Symptoms of a panic attack

Panic attacks can range from mild to severe depending on the intensity of anxiety.

Thus symptoms  of a panic attack can include:

  • heightened vigilance for danger and physical symptoms
  • anxious and irrational thinking
  • a strong feeling of dread, danger or foreboding
  • fear of going mad, losing control, or dying
  • feeling lightheaded and dizzy
  • tingling and chills, particularly in the arms and hands
  • trembling or shaking, sweating
  • hot flushes
  • accelerated heart rate
  • a feeling of constriction in the chest
  • breathing difficulties, including shortness of breath
  • nausea or abdominal distress
  • tense muscles
  • dry mouth
  • feelings of unreality and detachment from the environment.

If you are feeling any of these symptoms regularly. You must immediately contact any mental health specialist to get it treated. However, it is very common to feel down in our daily lives. Thus some amount of anxiety is even necessary for life. But when symptoms of severe anxiety prevail for a longer period, then it needs to be treated.

Even when you are a diabetic patient or an individual who is often prone to take stress even in normal situations then you are vulnerable to panic attacks. Your hands can shiver with dry mouth and you will develop an unknown fear that will constantly irritate you. It becomes more severe when you try to calm down yourself by ignoring whatever is happening to you.

Is it your environment or biology?

The debate about nature or nurture is very ancient in psychology. Now contemporary psychologists are of the view that neither nature nor nurture are independently responsible for this condition. It is a mixture of both. When you have some genetic influence that is causing anxiety then it needs some medical interventions.

However when you are aware of the reason for your anxiety from your environment then the reason can be different. Thus we must conclude that there are certain levels of analysis while analyzing such a problem. We can analyze it biologically, psychologically, and environmentally These have equal contributions to developing any psychological condition. Therefore it is environment and biology both that are responsible for such conditions of panic attacks.

Self-help solutions for panic attacks.

Panic attacks need to be cured by mental health professionals. However, we can take some measures to protect ourselves from the immediate repercussions of this problem:

  1. The first is the need to accept your mental condition. You must be assured of the fact that it is okay not to be okay. You can have anxiety and it’s completely normal
  1. Secondly if you feel like crying, you must cry. Never try to restrict it for any cause
  1. Avoid ‘self-talk’ that focuses your attention on your symptoms – don’t tell yourself ‘Stop panicking!’ or ‘Relax!’
  1. Focus your attention on something outside your own body and symptoms. For example, distract yourself by counting backward in threes from 100, recall the words from a favorite song, or concentrate on the sights and sounds around you.

The need for medications

Some situations can arise where you may need medical intervention to improve your situation. Please never hesitate to take any medication whenever required. Please consult any psychiatrist for the same who is specially trained for such mental disorders. Thus one must take special advice in such cases. The following techniques are advised for the same:-

  • medications
  • psychotherapy
  • biofeedback therapy
  • stress management techniques
  • proper breathing techniques

However, it is mandatory that you first consult any mental health specialist for its treatment.

Conclusion

Thus it can be concluded that suffering panic attacks in cases of extreme anxiety is normal to humans. As our body is vulnerable to get it ill, our mind can also be ill. Thus it is necessary to provide the required intervention to our mind from any kind of specialist. Please do take care of yourself. Please try to practice emotional intelligence tactics in your daily life. It will prevent you from all such clutter in your life that you may get from situations or people.

Do you worship?

Society is engaged in an endless and futile debate about whether God exists or not. Those who are religious are keen to prove with their arguments that God exists. people who are atheists are keen to prove that God doesn’t exist and they are continuously fighting among themselves for thousands of years.

Those who are atheists see worshipping as a sin and on the other hand, those who are theists are in a view that those who don’t worship are enemies of culture. The thing is, this debate is endless. New arguments will arise with time from both sides and if you are thinking that you will get answers to all your questions then you are in delusion.

Debate is the worst way to find the truth. It is a defence mechanism that you use just to prove that whatever you believe is the truth. Even if your belief gets proven then what is the value that you are getting? Just the pride that God exists or not.

Let’s keep this debate aside in this blog and let’s understand the process of worshipping here. This is an apparent fact that no matter what the religion is, every religion has posited the value of worshipping. Even atheists are also aware of scientific evidence of spirituality and always tend to segregate it from religion. Being it Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism, and all other religions, why is it so that there is a special significance to worshipping? Worshiping has its significance irrespective of religion.

It reduces the anxiety

Among many reasons for anxiety, one of the vital reasons is that you always make yourself responsible for whatever is happening to you. This activates your defense mechanism and you suffer anxiety when it gets out of your hands. Your mind will continuously produce thoughts even those that you don’t want. Worshiping is a process of depersonalization. It means this practice of worship will help you to make sure that you are not responsible for the things happening to you. This will make you calm and a wise decision-maker

It fosters love

The process of worshipping involves the love for existence. This expression of human emotions tends to foster the emotion of love. It tends to release hormones including serotonin and endorphins that help you to feel fulfillment. Thus it protects the natural human emotion and will help you to be normal and kind in difficult situations

It will help you to be happy

The process of worshipping involves the expression of our happiness. This is like you do need not any specific reason to be happy. Happiness is your nature that takes its natural form during the process. When you tend to bow down to worship, it also means a kind of surrender to nature. You need not take charge of everything happening in the world. Let nature do its work. This surrender will help you to get relieved from the grievances of your life

Will help you to get a cultural identity

The method of worship that you are pursuing has its roots in your culture. Thus it tends to connect you to the culture you belong to and therefore prove your cultural identity. A clear identity in your mind will protect you from any kind of identity crisis and make yourself clear about what you are. The lesser the difference between your real self and ideal self, the more clear you will become in your life.

Methods of worshipping

Methods of worshipping may differ according to culture. Someone can sing to worship. one can just play a musical instrument. Someone will read. One will just bow down to earth for half an hour. Some can pray to nature. Someone can just be grateful for existence. No matter what the method of worshipping.

One must worship for oneself, not for any other external reason. Remember worshiping itself is a process of detoxification. This will help you to grow as a person. It is very necessary to release the mental waste that has accumulated daily in our lives. Thus if we don’t get detoxicated then this toxicity can ruin our life. This is the reason that nearly every culture in the world has developed various detoxification methods.

Thus in a nutshell we shall conclude that worshiping is a process and way for detoxification. It is neither a matter of religion nor a matter of debate. It is a way of life that an intelligent person pursues. Thus we must work at least once a week in whatever way we want to provide aid to our body to survive in this existential world. It is nature and situations that are responsible for all the deeds happening to you. Thus it is not necessary that you need to alter the process.

Is technology a solution for environmental damage?

The environment seems to be the most proliferating topic in the present minds of youths. Thanks to the United Nations and its initiatives that helped the concept of environment to reach schools. The earth on which we live is undoubtedly overpopulated. It is very difficult to ignore the fact that if the contemporary situation is not kept under control, the future of humanity is in danger.

Thinkers who have thought in this way came to be known as environmentalists. Some of them are in heaven and some of them are still working on the planet just to make the population aware that this is not the way for our sustainability. It is gradually becoming very difficult for them to impart the question that in what way are we willing to hand over this planet to our children.

Few technological professionals thus entered the field. It was the argument that if technology has a major contribution to environmental degradation, now it is its moral responsibility to undo the damages. This blog today will provide you the exposure regarding some of the phenomenal technological exposures that are currently working or can work to save the environment from human damage:

1. Water cleaning robots:

Anand Mahindra recently claimed that he is ready to invest in water-cleaning robots. These robots went viral in Instagram posts. What it does is to use a net that passes through water. The microscopic and well-engineered net tends to catch up all solid waste from water. If such robots enter into market, they can be proved as a phenomenal tool in the hands of the government to clean the major rivers and waterbodies of India. One of the limitations of such robots is that there is a possibility of disturbance in aquatic life. In such a scenario, these robots must be responsibly controlled and can be used to undo the marine life where it has been destroyed because of garbage.

2. Green hydrogen: –

Water has two components hydrogen and oxygen. If this water is being chemically split into its basic components, it will help to Produce a hydrogen gas that is very easy to transport. This will reduce the use of non-renewable resources of energy. Also using this technology will reduce our dependence on coal and petroleum for energy requirements. Thus, the import will tend to reduce and then we shall move towards being “ Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.  A major problem with this technology is Between 50 and 80 percent of the energy value of clean electricity is lost in the process of making hydrogen and then burning it to generate electricity. Thus, it needed to be made energy-efficient with advanced engineering methodology.

3. Magnetic Iron extractor: –

We know that magnets easily attract iron. Thus, what this machine does is to attract all kinds of E-waste from the garbage through high electromagnetic power. This will enable us to easily reuse those resources. There are some elements present in the waste such as lithium that can be reused several times. Accumulating such resources from garbage will not only enable us to cut the cost of raw materials of production but also will help us to keep the environment clean.

4. Carbon capture and storage (CCS): –

This is an emerging technology that separates carbon dioxide from all other industrial gases that emerge out of production. Then it tends to store it as rock formation underground that does not damage the environment. This will help to reduce the progression of carbon compounds from the atmosphere and will lead to a reduction in greenhouse gases. This is one of the phenomenal innovations that will lead us to solidify the gaseous carbon dioxide.

5. Fake meat:-

Chickens and meat are some of the food choices among Indians. On the one hand advocates of being vegetarian posit that we must ignore killing animals for our taste. On the other hand, non-vegetarians argue that the food choice is an individual choice. It is also an apparent fact that lakhs of animals are being killed every day just to be eaten. So technology is now in a situation where if someone wants to enjoy the taste of meat without eating meat and wants to get the same nutrients, artificial meat is here. Artificial meat is such a product that without killing animals, you can enjoy the veg meat and thus the newly emerging animal rights can also be protected.

6. Carbon-negative concrete:-

Iron-based batteries are being developed to capture Earth’s energy from Earth’s core. Building accounts for 40 percent of all carbon elements. With high-tech engineering, if we can replace carbon in concrete with alternative elements then it can reduce the carbon burden on the environment.

Thus in a nutshell we can conclude that it was the technology that has created such burdens on the environment. Now it is the moral responsibility of all of us to use technology to protect the same. Human innovations have a lot of scope if they want to protect the environment in their own way. Every entrepreneur who is thinking of starting any venture must first think about the product’s pros and cons on the environment. If we want that we must not get abused for destroying our environment for our own sake, then we must take urgent steps to protect our homes and source of livelihood.

Student’s Aspirations on this Election

The biggest festival of democracy: the “election process” has started. All over India, it is apparent to see leaders again campaigning with a basket of their promises. Thus, this election brings out novel problems, demands, and aspirations.

This is an acceptable fact that students of higher education form a considerable amount of vote bank for leaders. Thus, it becomes necessary for leaders as well as voters to have a look at what the present demands and expectations of students are in this Lok Sabha elections. Also, how Can we make this country a better place to live?

Those who visualize the vital role of government in the development of the country must have the moral responsibility to know their demands. Every responsible citizen of India must vote for their country, no matter what their choices are. Only the active participation of citizens in politics can showcase our spirit of democracy.

From students’ eyes, this election has a direct relation with their future. Especially in the field of higher education and employment demands, the leader-citizen connection is gradually becoming an intimate relation. This election following are the aspirations of students:

1. More seats in government educational institutions:

One of the biggest aspirations that students hold is to increase their seats in government institutions. This will make the institutions more inclusive and will provide a level playing field for all students who aspire to study there. This is especially true in the case of medical and engineering candidates where market demand and supply both can be high. The need is if we get the proper infrastructure to aspire to our dreams, this will provide us with wings to fly.

WHO mentions that India needs 1.8 million doctors in India to deal with total medical demands. Every year there are a total of 3,39,125 enrollments in NEET. It means that they are willing to be in the medical field. Thus, proper infra and seats in the discipline tend to meet this demand through our knowledge economy. In a similar way in all disciplines, there is a need to provide a good quantity and quality of education for our overall development.

2. Proper infrastructure in government institutions: –

Although there is a pretty good development in the case of infrastructure in government institutions, their depreciation is one of the biggest problems. It is the need of an hour that proper awareness should be there regarding infrastructure depreciation. Also, the depreciated appliance must be replaced with immediate action to provide a valuable learning experience.

3. Need for mental health professionals in the education sector: –

It is a unanimously acceptable fact that academic and other pressures create a lot of mental health problems for students. It is very normal to face this problem, but the real problem lies in the lack of appropriate mental health professionals in the education sector. One prominent psychologist Mr. Misra once said, “There is a need to provide appropriate positions to psychologists in India wherever required. The research here must not be mere replication of West.”  A report from India Today quoted that, “There is a need for 15 lakh counselors for 315 million students.” Thus, it is an urgent need of era to fill this gap of mental health professionals

4. To increase the placement rate: –

To build a safe and healthy future, most students, after a lot of hard work, demand good placement. Thus, whoever the leader is must ensure that it is very important to take care of the placements of students enrolled in their institutions. The reason is at the end of the day they are being added to the total employment rate of the country

5. To encourage sports in the present education system: –

India has a huge sports potential in its students. The medals won and accreditations are proof of our potential. The need is to foster potential by providing opportunities in the field of sports. Students with their sports abilities require appropriate infrastructure, training, counseling, and support from the government to perform miraculously. The government’s policy of Khleo India must be implemented effectively for the holistic development of students.

6. Start up the friendly environment: –

Students of this country have the dream of making this country a start-up-friendly zone. This will not only help in the creation of employment in the nation but also will help to foster the dreams of individuals to make their own company. India is full of startup capacity; the need is for funding and guidance. The government’s start-up India program must target these two components to encourage entrepreneurs from all sections of society to have their venture.

Thus, in a nutshell, we must say that in this election it is our moral responsibility to think rationally and then vote. Our vote matters in deciding the pathway that our country will uphold. Please make sure that your voter ID is with you. Have a good and rational analysis of each candidate and let’s vote together to make this Bharat ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Internship

An internship is professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. It is a limited period of Work experience offered by different companies or other employers to students and graduates, giving them exposure to a working environment. It can be paid or unpaid, depending upon the requirements of the employers and performance of the students. Now many people say that if it is not paid why would it be useful ? why do we waste time on such thing ? But internship is not a job, where payment is necessary instead, gaining experience is.

Let’s go through some benefits of an internship:

1. The first and the most important is, is job experience. For a potential employee, the chances to get hired increases with the amount of experience he has gained. Some major companies, would actually prefer someone with an already experience in the field than a person with no experience. Reason being, the person who is experienced would actually know what has to be done when he lands himself into the market and how to represent the company.

2. Gaining research experience is equally important. For a science student to become an assistant in the lab, or a content writer or even a journalist requires the ability of researching well. Without researching coming up with the content or any practical work without any proof might lead to rejection. When doing an internship you gain that experience of what to research, when to research and how to research.

3. Exploring different options is also very important part for your career. Applying and doing a lot of internships you get to know about several different options about what career path you should actually choose. By doing this you might get to know better your field of interest and even tell you what things you are best at. Like do you write well or mentor well or are good at sales or any other marketing, etc.

4. Some internships do offer an amount of stipend for the work that they need. By applying for those, you can start earning at an early age. The amount can differ from an internship to internship, some might give you 1K and others mind give you 10k, which might be a huge amount for an undergraduate.

5. Some companies or employers look for internship as an opportunity for recruitment processes. They hire a bunch of students or graduates, make them intern for a few months and based upon their performance, offer them a job opportunity. Even if there is no vacancy, but if the student’s performance leaves a remarkable impression, they refer to him as soon as there is an opening.

So all in all, internships offer you certificates, experiences, better opportunities in future and a stipend as well.
