B.A (HONS) IN ENGLISH AT DU

B.A (Hons) in English is the most prestigious course at Delhi University, Cut off of this course is usually high in almost every college of DU.

If you are really interested in reading, then this course is definitely for you. Under this subject, you will be going to analyze the thought process of different writers.

Only love and affection towards this language, will not be benefiting you to score well in this field because this course is not for improving English, it is something more than that.

Because this course is something which involves students with a deep understanding of literature and language.

Both literature and language are totally different concepts, because language deals with sounds, symbols, sentences kind of stuff, whereas literature deals with the written work of writers.

Meeting To Confirm Syllabus For 4 Courses Of Delhi University

Delhi University will be commencing the online classes for the third and fifth semester students from August 10. However, the varsity is yet to decide on the syllabus of 4 courses of the colleges. Henceforth, the university is most likely to organize a meeting for the same.

Additionally, teachers have informed that the syllabus of these 4 courses are still in doubt. These courses include Sociology, Political Science, History and English. Due to the same reason, the teachers are in state of confusion regarding the starting of the online classes.

Meeting May Be On Monday Or Tuesday To Decide The Syllabus For These Courses In Delhi University

Moreover, the syllabus of of these courses of the university are alleged of being “pro left” by some of the right wing teachers. Besides, the syllabus of first semester for all these courses was also referred back by the executive council to the different departments. Additionally, a revised syllabus was also submitted to the committee. Moreover, the first semester syllabus was also passed by the committee.

Professor Maharaj Pandit informed, “We are holding a meeting either on Monday or Tuesday.” Additionally, he is chairman of the oversight committee on the syllabus. Further, he also said, “The registrar is looking into the issue. We have also distributed it among the deans so we should be able to reach consensus.”

Different professors from Political Science and English departments have forwarded reminders to oversight committee. Additionally, this is to get the approval of the syllabus for these departments.

An English professor hopes that the committee confirms the syllabus before August 10. Veena Kukreja, the head of the Political Science department said, “We are writing to them to approve the syllabi. More than one month has passed since we sent the syllabus.” She also added to her statement, “There was a letter from the university to send the syllabi for approval of the oversight committee. I think it should be done before August 10.”
