Delhi University is one of the premier universities in India with a long and rich history over nine decades. Spread across two main campuses – North Campus and South Campus, it is home to over 80 colleges and institutions where 77 are affiliated colleges and 5 are other recognized institutes. Here we will take a look at DU’s South Campus and the number of colleges that come under it.

How Many Colleges Are In South Campus DU?

History of South Campus:

In its early years, the university functioned from the iconic Kashmere Gate campus in Old Delhi. DU expanded rapidly over the years to accommodate the growing number of students seeking admission. This led to the establishment of DU’s South Campus in 1973 other than North Campus. It relocated to its present location on Benito Juarez Marg, near Dhaula Kuan in 1984.

The South Campus is located on a 69-acre campus aptly named the University of Delhi South Campus. It focuses on professional courses and research in applied sciences. The South Campus has a serene academic environment amidst a pollution-free, green locale.

The different departments are situated in the Faculty of Arts, Interdisciplinary Studies, Applied Sciences, and the S.P. Jain Centre for Management Studies. In the South Campus, there are several colleges including Aryabhatta College, Gargi College, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Jesus and Mary College, Maitreyi College, Motilal Nehru College, Ram Lal Anand College, Sri Venkateswara College, Rajdhani College, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Institute of Home Economics, Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic College, and College of Vocational Studies.
