The University of Delhi on Tuesday released its revised academic calendar for the Academic session 2020-21. The classes and exams in the view of pandemic and the nationwide lockdown were postponed. DU revised academic calendar is for the first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students for the academic year 2020-21. The main examinations are scheduled from August 12 to August 24.

The preparatory break starts from August 03 to August 11, 2021. The practical examinations are to be held during this break. While the mid-semester shall start from August 25. Where some students are against the conduction of even semester examinations and say that the evaluation should be assignment-based, the rest say that the colleges should open as online education isn’t effective and the students have already wasted enough months due to the pandemic.

The new session is set to commence on August 31, 2021.

While DU hints at conducting an entrance test instead of merit-based admission 2021. Students have been raising their concern for fair means of admission in the colleges and demanding CUCET after the Central Board of Secondary education(CBSE) on 1st June released a notice announcing the cancellation of board exams of class 12th because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The decision is still awaited.

The University of Delhi has released the admit card for the  open book examinations scheduled next month, for post graduate courses. Students can download their admit card from the official website of DU at du.ac.in by entering the credentials sent to them by the University.

Candidates are required to enter their ‘Admit Card Key’ at the space provided. The key shall be provided by the examination branch of the university through SMS and Email.

DU will conduct the PG examinations in the month of July. The exam is commencing from July 1. The datesheets for each exam can be downloaded from the official website of DU.

DU has already cancelled the exams for the  first and second year undergraduate students in view of Covid-19 pandemic. Students of the intermediate semester, term or year, will be graded on the basis of internal assessment marks and marks obtained in previous semester exams. Both of which hold a composite 50% marks.

In a notification issued on Thursday, dean examination Vinay Gupta said, students enrolled under the persons with disability category will be given five hours to complete their exam instead of three, prescribed for others. He directed colleges, faculties and departments to help students in arranging scribes. “For this, students are advised to send their requests related to the (scribe) requirement to the college,” the notification read.

Delhi university Fourth Cut Off List for admissions to various undergraduate courses of the University of Delhi is displayed by different colleges of the University on 9 Jul 2015.

The details of the minimum cut off percentage of marks (Fourth Admission List) at which admissions to various courses have been offered by different colleges are give below.

Sri Ram College of Commerce, Lady Sri Ram College and Daulat Ram College have closed admissions for all courses for the general category, majority colleges have seats vacant with the latest cut-off list seeing a marginal drop in percentages required for admission.

However, at SRCC, Economics (H) is still open in the fourth list at 97.37 per cent.

According to the notice released by the college, those students who qualified in the previous list under general and PWD categories can also apply for admission.

Kirori Mal College has closed many courses in Arts except
Political Science (H) at 94.25 per cent.

Commerce courses like Economics (H) and B.Com (H) are open at 96.25 per cent and 96.5 per cent with a maximum drop
of 0.5 per cent.

Gargi College has released its cut-off with an average dip of 0.5 per cent in most courses. English (H), B.Com (H) and Application Psychology (H) courses are open at 93.75 per cent, 95.25 per cent and 95.5 per cent respectively.

B.Com (H) is still available at ARSD college (97), Aryabhatta college, Deshbandhu College and College of Vocational Studies (95) and Gargi College (95.25),  Hansraj College (95.5) among others.

Four colleges – Janki Devi Memorial College, SGND Khalsa, SGTB Khalsa and Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, which had not released the third-cut off list in view of a Delhi High Court judgment granting them minority status, have featured in the fourth list.

For details with regards to variation in cut off percentage, the candidates are advised to contact the respective colleges.

As per schedule already notified, the eligible candidates who meet the requirements notified in the Fourth Admission cut off list are further advised to complete their formalities in the concern colleges within the stipulated time.

In some good news for the internet-savvy, the DU colleges will avail free Wi-Fi facility by the end of this year.

In its maiden budget, the AAP government has set aside Rs 50 crore for the free Wi-Fi project to be executed in colleges and around 300 villages of the national capital in the first phase.

“As per plan, we will complete the first phase of free public wi-fi by the end of this year but I expect to complete it much before the schedule. Government websites will be free and limited access of other contents will be provided,” Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told PTI.
