Delhi University has restored admissions under the ECA quota under 14 categories. According to the latest notification candidates who have already registered for admission can now apply for ECA as well from 1st to 31st August. An additional fee of RS 100 will be payable.

The 14 categories are as follows : Creative Writing, Dance, Debate, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental Indian), Music (Instrumental Western), Theatre, Quiz, Divinity, NCC, NSS, Yoga.

Registration for admission through DUET will close on July 31 but registration for merit-based admission will be open till 31st August.

ECA Admission Details 2020

Candidates can register for a maximum of three ECA categories. Admission will be based on merit or participation certificate of the candidates. Candidates will be able to upload a maximum of five certificates, dated between 1st May, 2017 and 30th April, 2020. The University will not accept Undated certificates.

The marks under ECA category will be awarded based on sum of the total marks awarded in the three best certificates uploaded by the candidate,” an official statement by the University said.

Certificates will be evaluated out of a maximum of 100 marks. Those who score 20 marks and above 20 Marks will be eligible for final merit list of ECA admission.

The maximum marks under ECA categories is as follows:
Participation/Prizes in Competition – 44
Training/Examinations – 28
Workshops – 16
Performance / Published work / Exhibition (Public) – 12

Not more than 15% concession in academic merit vis-à-vis, unreserved category applicants from the last relevant cut-off will be given for admission to a specific course subject to course-specific eligibility criteria. The specific concession shall be declared by each college,” the statement added.

Applicants can edit, correct and upload certificates in the registration forms that have already been submitted by applicants.

Applicants would be allowed to replace or update the documents – caste certificate, EWS certificate, mark-sheet, Minority certificate, medical certificate, supporting documents for ECA and Sports,” the official statement said.

National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to conduct Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) from 6th September to 11th September 2020.

“All aspirants desirous of seeking admission to UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes  of the University of Delhi through entrance test are hereby informed that NTA is likely to conduct the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) from September 6, 2020 to September 11, 2020. The detailed schedule will follow”, the Delhi University said in a statement, as stated by The Times of India.

Applicants are advised to carefully go through the bulletin of information available on the website of DU to check eligibility and the courses for which the entrance test shall be conducted. The applicants can choose the courses while filling up their registration form. Once the information regarding courses selected for entrance test and center preferences have been filled and submitted, it cannot be changed.

DU registration last date moves forward to July 31 for admissions 2020.  Additionally, over 6.4 lakh applications have been received till date by the university. The last date to register for undergraduate students, M.Phil and Ph.D is now 31 July.

Additionally, the result of CBSE and ICSE boards have also come up.  Earlier the last date to register was 4th July. Later, the last date to apply was 18th July. The same date is now 31st July.

4,44,198 applicants have completed their registrations till 9 pm on Saturday for the undergraduate courses. Moreover, 2,91,469 students have made the payment. In addition to this, 30,107 aspirants have registered for M.Phil and Ph.D, while 19,170 of the candidates have made the payments for admission. Furthermore, 1,66,933 applicants have registered for the courses in the postgraduate. The number of students who have finished the payment process stands at 1,34,068.

Additionally, the registration process for the Delhi University started late this year. The delay was due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. Moreover, the date to apply commenced from June 20. Due to the very same reason, the whole admission process will take place online this tear. This is very unlike the earlier times, when the whole admission took place in the colleges itself.

Students can register themselves at the portal on the Delhi University website. Additionally, there is an increase in the number of applications this year with respect to the earlier years.

St.Stephen’s to begin admission process from July 7. Additionally, the admission process will take place online for undergraduate students.

Moreover, the admission process for St. Stephen’s is different from other DU colleges. The college conducts its own separate admission process with different cut offs for the college. More importantly, the whole process is online.

The admission process will start from July 7. The last date to fill the admission form is July 18.

The applicants for St.Stephen’s will have to first apply on the admission portal of the Delhi University (DU). They will further have to complete the registration process from the DU portal. Furthermore, they will have to need the registration number that is issued by the Delhi University. This number is integral to apply for admission in St.Stephen’s.

Owing to coronavirus pandemic, the college will hold the interviews for admission online. The interview thus organized will be about the academic ability of the students. Moreover, it will also test the participation of students in co-curricular activities. Additionally, the interview will also access the student’s general awareness and their sense of values.

The names of the shortlisted candidates for interviews will be announced on the official website of the college. During the online interview, the candidates will require documents. These are the call letter for interview, the date of birth certificate and the mark sheet of qualifying exam.

The Christian candidates have to submit their copy of certificate of confirmation. Additionally, the same certificate is valid from at least two years prior to last date fixed for receipt of application.

The prospectus further read, if a candidate is a Christian who attends a church which practice Adult Baptism, a certificate of dedication of the candidate at childhood is necessary.

Furthermore, candidates of reserved categories will require their reservation certificates to apply for admission.

Admission in Delhi University (DU). The university is likely to extend the date of registration for admission in the university for 2020-21. The registration was to come to an end on July 4. However, it seems that the university might extend the deadline by a few days.

So far, less than 3 lakh students have applied in the university. As of 5 pm on Friday, the number of applications received by the Delhi University counts to less than 3 lakh for the undergraduate (UG) admissions.

Delhi University Admission: DU likely to extend the date for registration

Additionally, this step of extending the date of registration can be seen as a step to increase registrations. Moreover, it is a step to allow applicants to pay their registration fees. The step will also allow these applicants to complete their registration fees. 2,94, 228 applicants have registered till Friday evening. Additionally, the number of applicants who have paid their forms count to 1,70,971 till Friday evening. The number of forms received till June 14 last year counted more than 3.4 lakh registrations. While 2.38 lakh paid for their forms.

Additionally, the registration process this year started late due to pandemic of Covid-19. The registrations started from June 20 this year. As of now, the last date to fill the registration form is still July 4. But the same date may extend from this July 4.
