INTRODUCTION

Being a part of this eminent University is a good opportunity for students who love to explore new things. This University is classified into three categories that are north- campus, south-campus and off-campus. It consists of 77 affiliated colleges across the national capital with a total of no. 69554 seats (for UG courses) offered across 64 participating DU colleges via a merit-based admission process. 3291 seats reserved for ECA and sports quota, out of which 2075 are sports quota and 1216 are ECA seats.

STUDENTS DESIRE IRRESPECTIVE OF OFF CAMPUS COLLEGES

Some top colleges of DU like SRCC,  Hindu college, Hansraj college, Miranda House College, LSR etc. have high cut off, they demand more than 96% which leads to an increase in the popularity of these colleges. Most of the north campus colleges touch the sky in terms of cut-off, so students feel to get admission is a good catch, and obviously, it’s true.

But most of the students prefer to take admission in nearby colleges which help them in time management or maybe to be more focused on studies.

LET’S TALK ABOUT OFF-CAMPUS COLLEGES

Colleges that are not located around the administrative block of Delhi University are considered Off-campus colleges, they are good or preferable for those who live far away from campus. 10 off-campuses colleges are located on the north campus whereas 9 of them are located around the south campus.

From the past few decades, the quality of education, infrastructure, faculty are improving these colleges

Many people want to take admission in top colleges of Du but on an account of insanely high cutoffs students can’t get admission which leads students to take any course (students even didn’t know about the course) in top colleges, this happens because of people’s bad perception about other colleges, people standardised colleges on the premise of their cutoffs. They assume that their infrastructure, crowds, placements etc. are pathetic but that’s not true. Nowadays more and more people take admission in off-campus colleges as some of these colleges are also good and provide specialised courses and have a good infrastructure.

WHAT WE SHOULD DO?

we need to change our perception first because I believe that a person who carries a skill or talent can get success in life. We can’t assume one’s future based on their colleges.
