PART TIME FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES IN DU

Delhi University offers many foreign language courses to their students, and along with their graduation, students take admission according to their preferences and interests.

Foreign language courses like GERMAN, ITALIAN, KOREAN, CHINESE, FRENCH, ROMANIAN, PORTUGUESE etc. courses offered by DU.

There are 3 types of part time foreign language courses, certified courses, diploma courses, and advance diploma courses and provide bachelor courses in languages.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES

  • There is merit-based admission in the certified courses, you need to score good marks in 12th to get admission
  • For a diploma course, you need to score good marks in the certified course, otherwise, you need to clear the entrance test to get admission.
  • Similarly, you need to score good marks in a diploma to get admission in advance diploma.
  • Apart from this, you need to score more than 50% in the English language in your 12th class because many colleges ask for this.
  • There are different criteria for the general public and DU students, want to pursue a diploma or advanced diploma, Little relaxation is given to DU Students comparatively

Ragging at DU is a small sum of money, most of the freshers think that raging is prominent in DU but that’s not accurate, as shown in movies like Kabir Singh and 3 idiots, these are very extreme cases of ragging that never happened in DU.

Although there was a case of ranging came in light during 2014 from Satyavati college where a boy of the first year from B.com hons get beaten by his senior, After that strict actions would be taken, no complaints were filed regarding raging in DU after that case, this exhibits a positive side of the campus that DU becomes raging free University.

Ragging at du

Mostly practised in higher education institutions by senior, to establish his/her dominance over junior. UGC of India imposed regulations upon Indian Universities to take steps to restrain ragging and launched a toll-free anti-ragging helping.

Dress code Ragging – When your senior demand to wear a particular dress that makes you feel uncomfortable like dressing completely black and white, etc.

Verbal Ragging – If your senior verbally abuse you, or passing vulgar comments, forced you to sing a song in public. Verbal ragging differs from institution to institution in some Universities, students have to memorise a poem and recite them in public.

  • Students should not violate the status, dignity and honour of girl students.
  • The principal or anti-ragging committee shall take immediate action against the culprit.
  • Proper discipline shall be framed at the local level by the Dean of the Department.
  • Proper hoardings or pamphlets should be erected around and within the campus to prevent students from indulging in Ragging activities.
  • Sealed complaint boxes are placed in front of the principal’s office especially in those undergraduate colleges which have hostels.
  • Extra circular activities are placed in such a way where students are involved in constructive activities.
  • Special care should be taken to prohibit harassment based on caste, religion and gender.
  • The ministry of Human Resource Development of India launched a 24*7 toll-free helpline no. 1800-180-5522 and an email facility helpline@antiragging.in should be informed publicly.
