Delhi's location is the reason it suffers smog every winter — Quartz India

It is that time of the year when Delhiites long for a clear blue sky. These days we smell and taste pollution whenever we close our eyes. Stepping out is not a piece of cakewalk now for many. The shift of concern from Covid to Pollution in Delhi is happening now. And the worst part is that we in general are not able to do anything to solve it.

Whenever it comes to the AQI, Delhiites are always on the top. It might sound quite classy right now for us to be on the top. But, the actual pain is also felt only by the people living here. The rampant irritation in eyes, frequent chokeness are all the results of our bad deeds.

Some say, Dilwaalon ke yaahan pollution bhi dil khol ke aata hai. But, are the Delhi people the only ones to be blamed for this pollution here. We all know the stubble burning is one of the most major causes of this severe AQI. And this stubble burning happens in Punjab and Haryana, not In Delhi.

Delhi people are blamed for this pollution very easily. It seems to everyone that we feel pleasure into letting this happen. Just now saw the story of one of my Delhi friend. He said that he will not use his bike for a few days until the pollution levels stir down. And that’s amazing. What if all of us try to put in some little efforts like these on our own.

The roadway to it is not easy. But Delhi has to fight it back. Pollution is real. Pollution wouldn’t harm just a specific group of people. It will harm us all. And therefore it is important that we take a call soon.

STAY HOME , STAY SAFE !

AND LET’S FIGHT BACK

They say it is important to Never Give up. Why would this be true ? What would happen if we simply give up on life ?

Well, the moment you try to leave things to happen on their own. Or when you simply stop putting in efforts, you loose the game of life. Life is not mere a compilation of days which need to passed. Rather it is a game which needs to played in full swings.

“Never Give Up” is a phrase which all of us need to tie upto. Only then will we be able to succeed. Life never said that it is going to be easy. It has never been easy for anyone. And we are not any special for sure. So, how can the occurence of events be considerate for us.

It wont. So, how to win this game then ? There is just one golden rule. That is to not feel fed up with things. Never feel that you wont be able to do it. You are infinite and remember this till eternity. Anything in this world cannot be impossible. All it requires is a little bit of perseverance, determination and a strong will to NEVER GIVE UP.

Remember why you started and keep saying it to yourself. It brings immense energy all of a sudden to  achieve the goal. Keep in mind that CONSISTENCY is the key. You might fail once, twice or thrice. But will surely reach to the top in the end.

Never forget that a smooth sea never made a PERFECT sailor. All the hurdles in your path simply carve your strengths and make you a diamond full of shine. Beat the bull by its horns and simply get into it. No matter what the result would be, make a jump.

And remember, EVERYTHING IS EASY !

10 Study Tips for Exam Preparation - MyGov Blogs

With the datesheet of Delhi University being out for the UG and PG students, a sudden wave of tension has flown among all children. There is stress because of the new pattern – OBE exams. And the stress has become more persistent because of the fact that there is hardly a month left for the exams to begin with so much to do. In these last 30 days of the preparation time, it is important to study and revise smartly. Here are a few last minute quick fix exam preparation tips for all :

  1. LESS IS MORE

Trying to study everything in the end days wouldn’t do any good. Rather it will add on to your tension because you will be cramming up everything. Therefore, follow the strategy of LESS IS MORE and practice those concepts which are exam specific.

  2. SET A PLANNER

Do not begin your exam preps without a planner and your syllabus. Make sure you sit with both of them first and figure out which topic is to be allocated how many days. Make sure that you work harder to achieve these planner goals.

  3. SMART STUDY

Working smart instead of hard is the only rescue here. Put more and more focus only on the exam specific and important topics. Do not waste your time on doing topics which are less relevant. Maintain short notes of these important topics.

  4. BE THOROUGH WITH YOUR BOOKS

In an OBE, the most important reference materials are your books. Be thorough with your books and know which topic is given on which page. So that if you have to write an answer in the exam, you know which page to look upto.

  5. BE POSITIVE
Being stressed wont relieve your anxiety, but would rather add on to it. Therefore be positive that you will be able to crack your exams and pass with flying colours. Have confidence on the topics you study and make sure to give your exam in your most comfortable area of your home.

What it Takes to Organise a Pride Parade - DU Beat

“Today the world is practicing social distancing, but it is normal for the queer people. ” These are the words of a queer person who was part of the Pride Parade organised by a DU college. There is no exaggeration to say that life has always been difficult for the people of LGBTQ+ Community. Because of lack of inclusivity by the straight people. But, all these problems eased a little when finally the Section 377 was scrapped away in 2018.

There have always been people who have come forward for the support of the queer people. This has boosted the confidence of people belonging to lgbtq+ community to stand for their rights. Pride Parade is a way that helps all the queer and non queer people to stand for the identity and inclusivity of queer people. These Pride parades were started in 2008 in Delhi. When a certain number of people came upon the roads of Delhi to speak about their gender identity. Since then, Pride parades happen in Delhi in the month of November.

College students of Delhi University were also the ones who came forward to show their dignity and respect towards the people of LGBTQ community. These pride parades were started by the social groups and societies of DU colleges in 2016. Since then, every year students of various colleges like Hansraj College, St. Stephens College, Shri Ram College of Commerce, etc. organise the Pride Parades inside and outside their colleges to respect the gender identity of their queer friends and also assure them that they would be included no matter what!

Early Life

Born on 28 December, 1937, Mr.Tata was born in Mumbai in a Parsi Family. His father’s name was Naval Tata and mother’s name was Sonu Tata. He did his schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai and Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. He was just 10 years old when his parents separated. Thereafter, he was brought up by his grandmother. He aimed to become an architect and therefore, took admission in Cornell University, USA.

He has always been a very shy person and never believed in the show off and fame in this world. He always wanted to achieve success in his life by doing hard work on his own and not by using his surname. Therefore, until he completed his education in America, he used to do the dishes in restaurants and many other small chores to earn money for his living. Finally, in 1959, he got the Bachelors in Architecture degree. In 1975, he went to Harvard University to get a Management degree.

Business Career and Failures

He started his career in 1961 in Tata Steels by working at the shop floor. He kept working in various companies of Tata Group till 1970. In this he was promoted to the management level. He was handed over the loss making Tata Nelco Company which was a Television manufacturing Company. Ratan Tata worked heart and soul on this company and within 3 years he increased the sales from 2% to 20% in the market.

But in 1975, Emergency was imposed in India due to internal disturbances. This led to a lot of economic loss and ultimately, Nelco had to be closed. This was the very 1st failure of Ratan Tata. But he definitely did not sit back and came up with full force to work on his next project.

In 1977, Ratan Tata was handed over the Tata Express Mill Company which was just on the verge of shutting down. To set that company working again, he proposed the Tata Group to invest 50 lakhs in it, but the management denied and therefore, Tata Express Mill also got shut down. This was the second biggest failure in Ratan Tata’s life.

In 1981, Ratan Tata was made the Director of Tata Group and in 1991, he was designated as the Chairman of Tata Group. Thereafter, Tata Group kept on achieving great heights. In 1998, Mr. Tata launches the Tata Indica Car which was fully manufactured in India. But, this car was not welcomed by the market well and the sales kept dropping. It turned into Ratan Tata’s 3rd failure.  After this failure, he was adviced by his close ones to sell off this car company. He went with a proposal to Ford Motors where he was insulted by Mr. Bill Ford. Ratan Tata left the deal at that moment and came back with the fire in his heart.
Attaining great heights

After this, he invested all his amount in Tata Motors and relaunched the better version of Tata Motors which drove in a lot of profit to the company. On the other hand, Ford Motors was facing heavy losses and went with a proposal to Mr. Tata to purchase the Jaguar and Land Rover from them. Ratan Tata accepted the proposal and purchased it from them due to which Mr. Bill Ford was very thankful to Mr. Ratan Tata.

He kept on taking over a lot of foreign companies like Tetley,Corus Group and Daewoo company.

In 2008, he came up with Tata Nano car which costed just rupees 1 lakh and therefore it received a lot of good response initially. He also invested into various online platforms like Xiaomi, Firstcry, Ola cabs, etc.

During his regime, Tata Group kept achieving great heights and earned huge profit. He is a great philanthropist. Every year Tata Group donates 66 % of its profits for the welfare of society.

Awards
In 2000, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan and then in 2008, he received the Padma Vibhushan Award for his exemplary work all through his life.
Vision

His vision has always been to serve society by making his company internationally admired one. He tried fulfilling his vision of serving the society by launching Tata Nano Car. Even though it did not turn out the way he wanted it to happen, Mr. Tata still never lost hope and kept moving forward.

Long story short, Mr. Ratan Tata is a blessing of God on this Earth. He has proved this by many acts. He is an inspiration to each and every human being to never stop or get disappointed from failures. He is a representation of a true gentleman who has been acing all the spheres of his life and will be doing that further too.
